Little Nancy Plays with God

Little Nancy Plays with God

She reaches for the stars to pull them in.
They say no, no, “That’s not a win.”
Instead they pull her out
They want to play her all about.

In and out, out and in,
Between and through
Over and under
So much to do.

She laughs with glee.
So much to see
The stars are sparkling, gleaming lights.
But what is this?
In what’s not seen there’s more delight.

There’s something in between
that tickles her and makes her scream.
I got you now she hollers.
You’ve been hiding between the stars and flowers.

I know you now
Don’t take a bow
Because I too can love what’s
In between my friendly stars , my friendly flowers.
I see you sowing love between and making tickling joys,
I too love these many ways and things we play
in our heavenly box of toys .
